Plumber and Pipefitter

Vancouver Community College

Plumbers and Pipefitters are required on the Vancouver Community College Project.

Working Conditions:

Extended shift hours in changing weather conditions.
Busy, noisy, and dusty environments on dynamic terrains with multiple trades working together.
Personal Protective Equipment will be required (e.g., steel-toed safety boots, safety glasses/goggles, etc.)
Frequently alternating between standing, kneeling, and lifting positions in elevated or cramped spaces.
Construction jobs may require workers to be in good physical condition with the ability to lift heavy weight.

Requirements:

Valid Certificate of Qualification or Red Seal, Journeyperson or Apprenticeship Plumber/Pipefitter certification.
BC Class B or Class A Gas Fitter certification (classroom instruction) is required for Gas Fitter position(s).
Fall Protection/Fall Arrest, Aerial Work Platform, and Confined Space certificates.
Must have good observational skills and the ability to multitask.
Have a good understanding and the ability to follow safe work procedures.
Site Ready BC including WHMIS (provided by BCIB upon employment).

Assets:

OFA Level 1 certificate.
Respirator training.
Experience installing AHUs, sump pumps, electric heaters, hot water tanks, exhaust fans.
Experience working in heavy civil construction.

Wage Range: Wages can be found in the wage table of the Community Benefits Agreement
