HWY 1 – Kamloops to Alberta Four Laning

Building a Better Highway

Stretching from Kamloops to the Alberta border, this series of projects will upgrade sections of the Trans-Canada Highway to a four-lane, 100km/h modern standard. These projects will help connect communities, support businesses, and provide safer trips for families.

Ford Road to Tappen Valley Road The Trans Canada Highway 1 Ford Road to Tappen Valley Road Four-Laning project will upgrade approximately 4.3 km of the Trans-Canada Highway (TCH) and replace the Tappen Overhead bridge.

Chase Four-Laning Project This project through the Village of Chase will improve safety and reliability for people travelling along this important corridor.

Salmon Arm West Project This project includes intersection upgrades and construction of new frontage roads.

Quartz Creek Bridge Project This project involves replacing the two-lane bridge crossing at Quartz Creek with a new four-lane bridge, access improvements to forest service roads and widening 4.4 km of two-lane highway to four lanes.
