Broadway Subway Project

Ironworker Generalists are required on the Broadway Subway Project.

Working Conditions:

  • Extended shift hours in changing weather conditions.
  • Busy, noisy, and dusty environments on dynamic terrains with multiple trades working together.
  • Personal Protective Equipment will be required (e.g., steel-toed safety boots, safety glasses/goggles, etc.)
  • Frequently alternating between standing, kneeling, and lifting positions in elevated or cramped spaces.
  • Construction jobs may require workers to be in good physical condition with the ability to lift heavy weight.

Requirements:

  • Valid Certificate of Qualification or Red Seal, Journeyperson, or Apprenticeship Ironworker certification.
  • Fall Protection certificate.
  • Experience in unloading and placing rebar.
  • Must have good observational skills and the ability to multitask.
  • Have a good understanding and the ability to follow safe work procedures.
  • Site Ready BC including WHMIS (provided by BCIB upon employment.)

Assets:

  • Rigging and welding certification.
  • SMAW and FCAW and experience.
  • Confined Space Entry, and Aerial Work Platform certificates.
  • Forklift or Telehandler certificate.
  • Experience working in heavy civil construction.

Wage Range: Wages can be found in the wage table of the Community Benefits Agreement
