Pattullo Bridge Replacement Project

Cement Masons are required on the Pattullo Bridge Replacement Project.

Working conditions:

Extended shift hours in changing weather conditions.
Busy, noisy, and dusty environments on dynamic terrains with multiple trades working together.
Personal Protective Equipment will be required (e.g., steel-toed safety boots, safety glasses/goggles, etc.)
Frequently alternating between standing, kneeling, and lifting positions in elevated or cramped spaces.
Construction jobs may require workers to be in good physical condition with the ability to lift heavy weight.

Requirements:

At least 5 years of experience with dry and wet-finishing, patching, rubbing concrete.
Experience working in bridge construction.
Ability to check and direct placement of formwork, granular base and steel reinforcement material; operate power vibrators to level top surface concrete according to grade and depth specification; and resurface and replace worn or damaged sections of concrete structures.
Possess in-depth knowledge of the properties of various types of concrete mixes and how proportions, additives and curing affect concrete strength and durability; and OM constructing climbing formwork, preparing sub-grades and installing reinforcement.
Aeriel Work Platform and Fall Protection certificates.
OFA Level 1 certificate.
Must have good observational skills and the ability to multitask.
Have a good understanding and the ability to follow safe work procedures.
Site Ready BC including WHMIS (provided by BCIB upon employment.)

Assets:

Valid Certificate of Qualification or Red Seal, Journeyperson, or Apprenticeship Cement Mason (Concrete Finisher) certification.
Confined Space Entry, Rigging and Hoisting, and Ground Disturbance certificates.
