Cowichan District Hospital Replacement Project

Red Seal, Journeyperson and Apprentice Carpenters/Lathers are required on the Cowichan District Hospital Replacement Project.

Working Conditions:

Extended shift hours, in changing weather conditions.
Busy, noisy, and dusty environments on dynamic terrains with multiple trades working together.
Personal Protective Equipment will be required (e.g. steel-toed safety boots, safety glasses/goggles, etc.)
Frequently alternating between standing, kneeling, and lifting positions in elevated or cramped spaces.
Construction jobs may require workers to be in good physical condition with the ability to lift heavy weight.

Requirements:

Fall Protection/Fall Arrest, and Aerial Work Platform certificates.
Formwork Carpenters: Formwork experience.
Must have good observational skills and the ability to multitask.
Have a good understanding and the ability to follow safe work procedures.
Site Ready BC including WHMIS required (provided by BCIB upon employment).

Assets:

Valid Certificate of Qualification or Red Seal, Journeyperson, or Apprenticeship certification as a Carpenter or Lather (Interior Systems Mechanic).
Confined Space Entry, and OFA Level 1 certificates.
Formwork Carpenters: Experience with PERI and IntEllideck systems.
Lathers (Interior Systems Mechanics): Experience installing steel studs in commercial projects.
Experience working in heavy civil construction or road building.
