BCIB hired its first skilled trades employee in 2019. Since then, we have grown into one of the largest and most diverse construction employers in BC. To date, BCIB has employed more than 4,000 qualified tradespeople. We’ve learned a lot along the way and have even earned an accolade or two.
For example, in December, BCIB’s Tina Khan accepted an Outstanding Employer Award from Options Community Services at Surrey City Hall.
“It was an honor to receive this award on behalf of the work BCIB is doing in our community,” says Khan. “This award symbolizes the organization’s dedication and commitment to share career opportunities with newcomers and equity seeking groups to build a strong and diverse construction sector.”
