Chase East – Highway 1 Four-Laning Program

This Highway 1 four-laning project through the Village of Chase improves safety and reliability for people travelling along this important corridor. Chase East was the second phase. The first phase of the project, Chase West, widened 3.3 km of highway to four lanes on the western end of the Village of Chase including access management, median and roadside barrier and active transportation improvements.

This phase, Chase East, also widened 3.3 km of highway to four lanes and improved safety through the addition of a median and roadside barrier. Other enhancements include a cattle underpass, the conversion of 1.5 km of highway to consolidate access, and the separation of a multi-use pathway and pedestrian crossing to improve safety and traffic flow.
