Pattullo Bridge Replacement Project

Level 2 Surveyors are required on the Pattullo Bridge Replacement Project all throughout 2023.

Working Conditions:

  • Extended shift hours in changing weather conditions.
  • Busy, noisy and dusty environments on dynamic terrains with multiple trades working together.
  • Personal Protective Equipment will be required (e.g., steel-toed safety boots, safety glasses/goggles, etc.)
  • Construction jobs may require workers to be in good physical condition with the ability to lift heavy weight.
  • Must be physically fit to climb, walk on uneven terrain, and steep slopes, carry heavy and awkward objects, and perform repetitive strenuous tasks and able lift heavy loads (up to 50lbs) repeatedly through an entire work shift.
  • Have a good understanding and the ability to follow safe work procedures.

 

Experience, qualifications, and certifications that are considered an asset:

  • Post-secondary level training in Civil Engineering, Geomatic Engineering, or Engineering Technologist Diploma with a Survey designation.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in the field of construction surveying.
  • Experience in surveying using a Total Station & Geographic Information system (GIS) (ie. Leica, Trimble and Topcon), and/or other Survey Instruments.
  • Perform a variety of complex calculations to determine topography, volume, profile, survey closures, heights, depths, relative positions, property lines, and other characteristics of terrain.
  • Perform a full range of complex technical support functions related to the survey, location, construction and tenure/rights acquisition of civil and structural components.
  • Provide construction layout data as requested, including control lines and elevations that are required for accurate measurement and correct installation of materials by crafts.
  • Adapt existing standards to prepare alternative design proposals for projects involving cross discipline issues.
  • Excellent analytical, technical, communication, organizational, and planning skills.
  • Ability to accurately read plans and calculate shapes (geometric, etc.).
  • Full Class 5 Driver’s License and Pre-access D&A Testing Required.
