Ironworker Generalists
Kicking Horse Canyon Phase 4 Project
Journey Person Ironworkers are required on the Kicking Horse Canyon Phase Four project all throughout 2023.

Working conditions and other requirements:
- Extended shift hours, in changing weather conditions
- Busy, noisy and dusty environments on dynamic terrains with multiple trades working together.
- Will be working at elevated heights in tight constraints
- Must be willing to work nights as requested
- May be required to work from heights on elevated work platforms
- Physically demanding tasks including moving and stooping to carry, bending, cutting, and connecting iron or steel at a steady pace.
- Personal Protective Equipment will be required (e.g., steel-toed safety boots, safety
- Construction jobs may require workers to be in good physical condition with an ability to lift heavy weight.
- Ability to follow instructions and basic design specifications
- Must have good observational skills and the ability to multitask
- Have a good understanding and the ability to follow safe work procedures
- Have good communication and interpersonal skills
Experience, qualifications, and certifications that are considered an asset:
- Valid Red Seal or Journey Person Ironworker generalist certification considered an asset
- Ability to operate electric hand tools in a safe and efficient manner considered an asset
- Experience unloading and placing rebar
- Installing girders, decking and other structural components of bridges.
- Rigging and CWB welding certification and experience considered an asset
- Fall Protection, Aerial Work Platform and Confined Space Entry considered an asset
- Forklift Certificate or Telehandler Certificate considered an asset
- Site Ready BC including WHMIS (details will be provided by BCIB upon employment)
